The attacker has netted five goals in 10 Spanish league matches during the current campaign.

Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to fans for his conduct when substituted in the recent heated El Clasico win.

He was replaced in the 72nd minute and displayed his annoyance by going straight off the pitch.

He eventually reappeared to the dugout and, after his club's narrow triumph, tried to confront the opposition's youngster Yamal during unpleasant final whistle incidents.

"Today I want to apologise to all the supporters for my reaction when I was substituted in the derby," the player wrote on social media.

"In the same way as I have said in person during this morning's training, I wish to say sorry once more to my team-mates, the organization, and the leadership.

"Occasionally passion overcomes me because I continuously aim to succeed and assist my club. My winning mentality originates in the affection I hold for this team and everything it stands for."

The player joined Real from Brazil in 2018 for a significant fee and has notched triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his career in the La Liga is unclear with reports in lately suggesting that Real would consider allowing the 25-year-old move on if they were to receive a good proposal.

When the winger was replaced on the match day, TV coverage from coverage provider the service captured him remarking: "Always me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I leave, I'm leaving."

In his latest message on X, he commented: "I vow to keep striving every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have acted since the first day."
